The laundry industry
has recognized the simplicity and efficiency of automated sorting
directly into slings. The E-Tech Sort-On-Rail system makes this
possible. Though not a major interruption, there is a short time
(most often as little as 10-20 seconds) when the operators must
delay sorting while a full sling is exchanged for an empty one.
For high throughput plants where continuous sorting is required,
E-Tech has developed intermediate buffer hoppers for the single
trolley Sort-On-Rail. Their hoppers only hold enough linen to create
the required buffer between sling exchanges, and thus allow for true
continuous sorting.
While retaining the advantages of completely independent sort
stations, It is often not necessary to pair slings (for washer and
dryer efficiency) at the stations. Many items have sufficient volume
to be paired on their own dedicated storage line, while others can
be paired in a small pairing loop dedicated to those items.
As with all E-Tech Sort-On-Rail designs, the vertical sort windows
provide the most efficient and accurate sorting arrangement. There
is no need to “play basketball” as operators toss goods across
horizontal openings only to find that they end up in the wrong spot.
The stainless steel sort windows along with the stainless steel
buffer hoppers enables the system to retain its bright professional
appearance for years to come. Unlike plastic or fiberglass, it does
not stain or crack, or yellow as years pass.
Because no two laundries function exactly the same, with the same
goals, the same volume of goods, or the same mix of goods, E-Tech
provides many sorting options.
