Textile Care Services
Rochester, MN

E-Tech has performed two installations in this state-of-the-art Rochester plant. The first in 1994 and  the second 12 years later in 1996.  TCS has over 88,000 square feet of equipment and trained staff. The only plant of its kind in Southern Minnesota. Textile Care Services handles linen for a variety of different health care facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices.

The volume of linen is approximately 10,000 lbs per hour, 10 hours a day, 5 days a week or over 26 million lbs per year.  The totally automated soil side system begins with a Sort-On-Rail design which includes continuous sort buffer hoppers which measure about 110 lbs into each sling.  The sort area is driven by three input conveyors that move goods in front of 61 automated hoppers and 30 manual hoppers (a total of 91 sorts).  Slings are automatically opened at the three tunnel washers and six washer/extractors and the empties tracked back, are automatically closed and the cycle begins again.

The clean side system features three automatic tumbler to sling transfer stations.  Slings are automatically routed to the various finishing destinations where they are manually opened and closed by the operators and the empties are tracked back to begin the cycle again.  Managed by Paul Jewison, we appreciate his expertise in making the E-Tech systems really work.
