E-Tech (founded in 1970) was originally built around the largely neglected area of material handling in commercial laundries.  TC-Trak systems now loaded washers, washer/extractors, and dryers without the strain of manual loading.  Clean work was quickly and efficiently distributed on the clean side.  Floor space was freed up. 

As the years passed, linen maintenance technology changed significantly, principally in response to the increasing use of the tunnel or “batch” washer. From the beginning, E-Tech grew rapidly in response to these changing needs.  With a reputation for delivering dependability and efficiency, the systems maximized productivity.  In 1987, E-Rail was born and in 1988, the first system was installed.  E-Rail was a product designed from the ground up specifically for use in the laundry industry.  Running 24/7 (more than 8600 hours per year) the dependability and efficiency for which E-Tech was known came to this next generation of product.

E-Tech (originally named Ekola Engineering) was founded by Lee Ekola.  To him and his vision E-Tech, along with the rest of the industry, is extremely grateful.  Lee began his life-long involvement in the laundry industry at age 11 when he swept floors in his father’s laundry in Hibbing, Minnesota.   Prior to founding E-Tech, Inc, Lee was the Engineering Manager for a nationwide linen supply company.

In more recent years, we have continued to enhance and evolve system and component offerings.  RailPro, our industry leading control software, is so operator friendly that workers in Japan use it without translation.  New innovations as RFID tracking and verification, Pro-D, and Auto-Pilot show E-Tech’s proficiency and ongoing commitment to providing the very best systems available.

In 1999 E-Tech moved to a new facility in Minneapolis under the leadership of David Harrington.  In 2002, the company was purchased by our current President and Vice-President, Duane Martinson and Joseph Schult.  Lee retired in late 2006, but his legacy still endures at E-Tech.  The “customer first” attitude that originally made E-Tech successful continues through a new structure and new ownership.  Our staff includes degreed engineers and other experienced professionals with a wealth of industry specific experience.  The hundreds of successful system implementations bear witness to their skills.
